Dear FCNN Network; friends, family, colleagues, loved ones
As summer has passed, fall has given us new paths to walk on and we are excited to share our winter programme with you all.
Since our emotional speech for the International Women’s Day 8th of March, FCNN has transitioned into a new phase of feminist strategy, which is all about love rather than fuck offs. What that means and how that looks like for us, only time can tell, but we appreciate and acknowledge all the support and opportunities we’ve received from both our communities across the world and new acquaintances.
We start in Basel at 1.1, where we participated in the group show The Care of the Possible curated by Lotte Løvholm. This was the first time all three episodes of FCNNNews were screened together, but surely not the last…
In October we announced the danish premiere of the final and last episode of the first Season of FCNNNews (Ep.3) at Charlottenborg Art Cinema, where we invited Claudine Zia, Aysha Amin and Lydia Östberg Diakaté to talk with us after the screening. It was a magical night. Thank you for showing up.
We also had a unique opportunity to continue the work of Another Dinner, Ruined at Skåne Kunstforening together with Space27. As part of the group exhibition What’s left from my heart, we had the pleasure of working with curators Simona Dumitriu and Tawanda Appiah and while sending love to Beirut, we were grateful to be reunited with Elsy Hajjar.
So what’s coming in 2020?
We are happy to tell you, that we will exhibit FCNNNews 24/7 at ARIEL – Platform and Interface for Feminisms in the Aesthetics curated by Nina Woelhk at Kvindernes Bygning, Copenhagen (DK).
FCNN will teach at The Danish Royal Art Academy of Fine Arts with the workshop Love Like Activism. It will prioritize BiPOCs and people identifying somewhere in the FLINT* and we are beyond excited to begin this work of education.
All of this would not have been possible without your help. Thank you and especially to Statens Kunstfond for their continuous support.
Stay warm and we hope to see you
Xoxo from FCNN / Anita, Dina & Lil
